only half of all wav files play
First, I used Winamp2 for several years without any problems. I converted to WAV so I could mix my own cds. I made playlists. My SB soundcard never gave me any trouble.
Now, today I switched to Winamp3 and found that I cannot play any WAV file from start to finish. They all stop about 50% of the way through. Remember, these songs, sound bytes actually, worked this morning. I reinstalled after making sure my previous versions were gone. I installed the update. I did this whole procedure twice and still the WAV files only play half way through. MP3s are fine. Extra info: I did not load any plug-ins (as a matter of fact when I go through the preferences there aren't any plug-ins.) I run a 733 MHz, 30G, WIN '98 system. I have the latest DirectX driver. There are no third party components. Please, help me correct this problem. Rachel |

small, 33K to 275K
They are really just sound bytes that I wanted to add to a PowerPoint presentation. Rachel |

Have you maybe got a wav that's about a minute long or so? Does that play ok? I'm thinking maybe the sounds are too short! I used to have a problem in winamp2 and worse in 3 wih short files. Something to do with the cache I think....
