freezes when adding files

when i open winamp and click add --> file, it just locks up. Music continues to play normally, but winamp is totally frozen untill i end task studio.exe My computer is a 1.3 ghz with 512 ram and running win 2k. i can drag and drop to the playlist but double clicking the file doesnt enque it either.

what build are you using and did you remove any OLDER builds before installing the one you are using?

im using build 488, this is the only build i ever had, i have updated winamp andeverything else with the exception of my video and sound drivers, im pretty sure that is not a conflict, but let me know if you think otherwise.

yeh....happens to me aswell. something about "studio.exe". I just downloaded winamp 3 2day (20th december 2002). I did have winamp 2.81 before, so i uninstalled that first before installing 3....gotta go back to 2.81 now, until u can sort out the bugs!!

well thanks for all the help guys but i managed to fix it myself. There was a problem with the directory, so i mooved all my mp3's into a different folder, deleted the old one, re-created it then mooved all the files back and it works now.
