Playlist problem here

My dad wanted me to download Winamp3, so, I did. Now he's bickering that the playlist has changed. He wants the skin AWD-Digitaltower-V2 on his Winamp2 to work on Winamp3, with the original style playlist. He hates the new playlist, and I don't know what to do to have a Winamp2-style Playlist on Winamp3. He hates that little window thing too, for some reason. Basically, he wants it to look the same cosmetically. What do I do now?

OK. The fastest and quickest way for your dad to get what he wants is to have BOTH Winamp2 and Winamp3 installed on the puter. Winamp3 is not an upgrade to Winamp2. They are 2 entirely seperate applications, developed independently of each other, and will continue to be that way. This way, having both installed (as I and many others do) will allow your dad to enjoy Winamp2 and you to enjoy Winamp3 (if you like the interface that is).

Now, the developers of Winamp3 will in fact be adding features in future releases that Winamp2 has. Just keep looking for them. Also, since your post is not really a tech support question, but rather a "request", you might consider posting your wishes in the Winamp3 Wishlist forum (which is really where you should have posted). That way, the developers will see it too and perhaps consider your request(s).

As far as skins are concerned, it's entirely up to the 3rd party skin developers to create counterparts of WA2 skins for WA3. Some developers have already done so. You may also request that the developer of the AWD-Digitaltower-V2 skin create one for Winamp3, by emailing that party directly if you like. Then, it's up to him. Also, there may be someone who is willing to/already working on a Winamp2-style Playlist for Winamp3. That would probably be listed as a Winamp3 "component" when ready to go. So just keep looking at the Winamp3 Components page. That type of component would most likely be eventually found under the "Miscellaneous" section, if/when developed.
