broadcasting with a router ???
I just bought a router and I became unhappy when I realised I can't broadcast no more... Before, I was connected through a cable modem directly connected to my ethernet card. The ip address were attributed by the DHCP server from my provider and was 212.68. ... . ... The only thing I had to do was giving this ip to all the listeners. But now, the shoutcast server runs on a pc wich is included into my lan with an ip like 192.168. ... . ... . The pc is after the router which receive the ip 212.68. ... . ... on his wan port and determinate one on his ethernet lan port also like 192.168. ... . ... But I can't install the shoutcast server on the router !!! Is there a way to continue with broadcasting and is it possible to explain a clear method to do it.
Thanks a lot, I hope the eplanation of my problem is clear enough... hope also find a solution... Dawei

In your router settings, forward the SHOUTcast ports (defualt is 8000 and 8001) to the DNAS machine.
Check out the Sticky post titled: SHOUTcast: Important Info & Answers to FAQs. READ ME! Scroll down a bit and look for the section titled: Routers, Firewalls, and Networks. Oh My! |
