16 Bit Bitmaps...

Hey, I've just finished my latest skin and tried to upload it to winamp.com - as you guessed form the title it was rejected, saying that I had used 16-bit BMP's.

I'm confused as to what this means and how to fix it... I am using photoshop to save the BMPs. In the image -> mode there is an option for 16 bits/channel, but I am fairly sure this isnt what it means.

So, how can i check what is a 16-bit BMP?

what version of photoshop? with 6/7 (at least), when you go save as>bmp, you get a choice of how you want to save it.
