Getting an error message "Studio caused an error"
Hey,
I installed Winamp about a week ago and it's been working fine. Today it just suddenly closed on me. When I opened it again it had changed to the default skin (I had MMD3 on) and I couldn't load any playlists. When I tried to add a file I'd get this error message: "Studio has caused an error in In the FAQ it says that when you get that error msg "If you installed the Winamp2 Input Plug-in Support component, Update or un-install it. " But I never had Winamp2 so I don't know what to do I tried uninstalling and reinstalling and the problem is still there, it worked fine for 5 mins and then I get the error msg. It's strange 'cause it had been working fine and now this Please help! |

Thanks. I uninstalled again and did a search to see if there were any elements left, and there was a winamp.ini and another one. I deleted those and reinstalled. I'm not sure if it was 'cause of that but it seems to be working fine again
Thanks you! |

Ok. In your case, with that error, it's a little different...
Winamp3 Trouble-Shooter Guide > Winamp3 FAQ "Studio has caused an error in If you installed the Winamp2 Input Plug-in Support component, Update or un-install it. Also, after you perform this procedure, you can keep Winamp2 and Winamp3 together on your puter (as I do) and should have no problems. Don't email or PM me concerning Winamp. Instead, either start a NEW TOPIC or post a REPLY in the appropriate thread in these forums. This will also benefit others who may have a similar question or problem. But before posting, please first Search the forums and read all FAQs and all Sticky threads. I don't know if this will help anyone else or not but this is what I do when I start having the "Studio has caused an error in (unknown)" error message.
I go into the folder Winamp3 is in and delete the two following files. *\Winamp3\db\metadata_{2478B07C-0CA5-4615-8DB7-896F03AD4D28}.ndb *\Winamp3\db\metadata_{2478B07C-0CA5-4615-8DB7-896F03AD4D28}.ndx If you don't find that exact file you can try moving the files that are similar to that one to a different folder until you get the desired effect. When you restart WA3 it will create new files to replace them and WA3 works for me just fine until I start messing around with new plugins or modifying files.
