Help with Skins~
I have a question... somehow, i can't install new skins. I'm currently using Winamp 2, and whenever i try to install skins it goes directly to my playlist. It's in my skin folder btw, and also, ive tried browsing it with the skin browser but it doesnt show up. How do i change my skin to a format that Winamp recongnizes as a skin?
Btw... it's a .sz file. |

You have to rename all your skins from *.sz to *.wsz
That's all. |

Tried... all it did was added an .wsz to the end of the name... the file type still stayed the same.

First, check if all your file extensions are displayed.
Maybe Windows Explorer hides extensions for most known file types. Launch Windows Explorer (not Internet Explorer) and click on the "Tools menu" at the top. Then click "Folder Options". Now, click the second tab called "View" and see if the checkbox called "Hide extendions for known file types" is enabled. Uncheck it. Now, you should see all extensions of all the files of your computer. Secondly, don't add ".wsz" to the end of the skin filename. Your skins must be "skinname.wsz" and not "skinname.sz.wsz" (but doing that won't solve your problem yet). To install a skin with a WSZ extension, you just have to double click on it. It automatically installs istself in "c:\program files\winamp\skins". Too, if you download skins from internnet, you can choose the OPEN button instead of saving it to a folder. Openning it will auto-install it to your winamp skin folder and launch winamp2 with that new skin. To browse/choose skins you installed press ALT + S. That will display the skin browser. Choose the skin you want to use. Then click CLOSE. Tell me if it worked. |
