Input Plug-ins and making mp3s
First posting, so be patient.
Have Version 2.80 and am converting my own CDs to MP3 format using Chun-Yu's MP3 Writer plug-in v3.0. In the input plug-ins list I have several plug-ins listed: Nullsoft MPEG Audio Decoder 2.8a Microsoft WINAMP/WMA plug-in v1.11 Winamp2 MIDI plug-in v2.63b Nullsoft Module Decoder v2.2.10 Beta6 Nullsoft Vorbis Decoder v1.2 b7 Nullsoft CD/LineIn plug-in (CDDB2) v2.0 Nullsoft Waveform Decoder v2.05a CD Reader v1.95 Question set 1 (of 2): As I convert my CD files to mp3 format do all of these input plug-ins affect the conversion? Or should I disaable/remove some? Looking for basic info on how this works. Question 2: I think that the output section works this way: (Am I right?) Whatever item I select (and optionally configure) becomes the current output for Winamp. Is this true? Thanks for help. I did search the FAQs and Tech support, unsuccessfully. Hope I didn't miss the answers there... -Bob Heil |

answer 1: only one input plugin is active at a time, which one depends on the file format
you have two plugins for audio cds, please disable one of them, it's described in cdreader's readme answer 2: yes, correct answer 3: for ripping cds or converting wav to mp3 or vice versa better use http://cdex.n3.net/ |

Thanks for the help.
Read the follow up stuff and now have a much better (or at least dangerous) knowledge level. -Bob |
