Different lag on same radio station

(I've searched for lag and delay, but could not find this issue)

When listening to a shoutcast radio station there is a different delay for different listeners. ie I hear it 15 secs after the first listener hears it. I've tried to set the mpeg buffering to a lower value, but it keeps coming back with 16kb.

Since it works for other people I'm guessing it's a winamp thing, not a shoutcast thing.

Please help, it's annoying to compete in a radio quiz, and others hear the questions way before you

it just sounds like the other people are buffering for different amounts, over different bandwidths. the only thing you could really do about it would be to all get the same connection, and all buffer for the same amount of time.
