Solution for streaming on Windows XP
For those of u that don't know, Windows XP has a firewall, I spent over an hour trying to get the stupid thing to work just to find out that the firewall in Windows XP was blocking it the whole time. To find out how to turn it off go to Windows help and search for firewall, from there it should be easy since the help topic actually tells u where to go to turn it off. If everything else is configured with your Router (if u have one), SHOUTcast, and WinAmp it should stream without a problem. Most of u probably know this, but I have been reading some topics where people are having problems streaming on Windows XP.

Check out the Sticky post titled:
SHOUTcast: Important Info & Answers to FAQs. READ ME! Scroll down a bit and look for the section titled: Routers, Firewalls, and Networks. Oh My! -> General Information -> Am I running a Firewall? |
