'Sort on load' doesn't work properly

There is a problem when I have checked the option 'Sort on load' in preferences. When I right-click a folder in explorer and choose 'Play in Winamp' it loads all the songs, but they are never sorted as they should be (I always sort by path and filename). I looked at the online documentation, but this option was not mentioned there.
Is there a solution or an answer to this problem, or is it not yet implemented?
I use Winamp 2.81 on Windows Me.

2) Some people are complaining that Winamp isn't sorting the playlist properly when using drag+drop dir, or "dir context menus", regardless of the settings in Prefs -> Options (Sort files on load/read titles on load).
Apparently it only works properly when using the Add Files/Dir button in Winamp Playlist Editor..
This way the files are automatically ordered by filename (as intended), whereas with the other methods they seem to be ordered by FAT32 allocation or date created instead.
Possibly a Windows related bug, not sure?
