Silly question...
Sorry if this has been asked before... I looked, but I didn't see it anywhere...
My question is this: Do I have to listen to the stream as I send it, or can I listen to my station like any other listener? Thanks a bunch in advance! |

No. Use the null output plugin to not hear what you play. Can I listen to my station like any other listener? Yes. DNAS link: http://yourDNASip:yourDNASport Listen link: http://yourDNASip:yourDNASport/listen.pls Just replace yourDNASip with the ip of the DNAS (SHOUTcast server) and yourDNASport with the DNAS port (default is 8000) Machines on the same lan as the DNAS (you) need to use the lan ip of the DNAS to connect/listen. Machines not on the same lan as the DNAs (the rest of the world) need to use the real, world-visible ip of the DNAS to connect/listen. |

Okay. I got the plug in (THANKS!), and that works. The other question, however, is that I'm running the server on the same machine that I want to listen to it on. Will that still work?

It will work, BUT why would you want to listen to yourself? Your a DJ, let your listeners listen, your just a DJ.

you may have to open another instance of winamp, so make sure "allow multiple instances" is checked in the preferences. |
