Player/stream stops for no apparent reason

I'm listening to my home shoutcast server at work using xmms on Linux. Periodically the player will just stop, with no attempt to rebuffer/connect. If I click play again it reconnects and off I go again. Play time can be short (~3 minutes) or long (~3 hours) before stopping.

The DNAS server logs don't show anything (other than the disconnect/reconnect).

The TCP connection still shows as ESTABLISHED until I reconnect.
