How do I stream off my linux Server?????

Here is my last post! I was told I dont need a listen.pls file well how do i stream more then one song I can play one song but thats useless to me!!!!! http://forums.winamp.com/member.php?...&userid=103105 PLEASE HELP ME! I have been up and down the forums!

Blah didnt even need fricken shoutcast server to do what i wanted all i wanted to do was stream like a bunch of songs now I find uot put a m3u file on a webserver goto address and works in pretty much any mp3 player with streaming capabilitues
even works in itunes for mac i guess all you would need shoutcast server fro is for like radio station or naming everything and stuff blah pretty damn lame I wasted time on this server and its not even needed!

I changed my m3u to this so my files would be protected! Boy someone needs to make a better help file cause those are terrible!!!!!
Thank you for the help anyways! Usually takes a day to configure something like this not 2 weeks, the lack of good examples on this subject is pretty bad! The fact that no one tells you anywhere that you need a webserver to stream of a linux server is very lame!

Are you OK? First you need to know what you are trying to do before you jump into something. Usually this can cause confusion.

DNAS is for streaming realtime to any media player. It doesnt allow downloading. Setup couldn't be easier if you take your time.

Uploading mp3's to a webserver lets people download them and use up all your bandwidth. Not good.

I didnt know you had to have a webserver to run the pls or m3u off is all ! O and it did tell me in one place which someone quoted above but i misunderstood it! I guess you misunderstood also from your comment above DJ Amp!
