when I try to connent... (Please Help)
I'm trying to run my own server (I would like for it to be ran off my web domain because it's for a show I will be doing for the site) for Shoutcast and I keep getting the error:
Cannot see your station/computer Please help me, I know I'm probably behind a firewall. Any help is appreciated. I want my radio show to be broadcasted on www.worldofwrestling.us (my site) but if I have to run it from my computer, how do i get it properly running? |

You can't run SHOUTcast if you're behind a firewall, I don't think.

Well if I could find out a way to run my own personal server off my own web domain, that'd be great in itself, the firewall thing I can try to find a way around.

1.
The DNAS tells the SHOUTcast yp (yellow pages) that you are streaming. The yp, in turn, verifies your stream. In your case, the yp cannot connect to your stream to verify so you will not be listed in the SHOUTcast yp directory at http://www.shoutcast.com Are the necessary ports open in your firewall and are they being forwarded to the DNAS machine? Check out http://www.radiotoolbox.com/cantheygetin and see if the reported information there helps. Additionally, check out these posts: http://forums.winamp.com/showthread....hreadid=116786 http://forums.winamp.com/showthread....hreadid=112997 http://forums.winamp.com/showthread....hreadid=112923 2. Check out the results from a SHOUTcast forum search on 'telnet ssh'. Look for a post by clubexplosion titled: Install shoutcast on host Note: Other search criteria may find more results. |
