http://172.181.154.82:8000 -> Cannot find server or DNAS error

You can get a static name, such as foo.bar.com (not as cool as that, though ) from http://www.no-ip.com or one of the other myriad of Dynamic DNS Services.

I have tried using the no-ip.com service ad it says updated IP address everytime I get back on the net, start my Shoutcast DNAS up and winamp get that going but when i goto www.crowfield99.servermp3.com:8000/listen.pls it says it cant find it. Can AOL users use it?

http://www.crowfield99.servermp3.com:8000/ ->
http://172.183.221.147:8000/ ->

Your streaming at 40kbps 22kHz stereo.
IMHO, 56kbps and below sounds betetr in mono.

Your stream is skipping quite heavily.
Too much to enjoy your stream.

You have some clipping going on. Either turn down your levels or normalize your files with MP3Gain.

I experienced no buffering.

Remember, machines on the same lan as the DNAS (you) need to use the lan ip of the DNAS to connect/listen.
Machines not on the same lan as the DNAS (the rest of the world) need to use the real, world-visible ip of the DNAS to connect/listen.

I have turned it down to 24kbs 22.050Mhz Mono, I am using AOL Broadband should that just be about right? I dont really want it to buffer etc.

I have made sure i am using the correct IP not the AOL one but that does not seem to make a diffrence. That IP address you said was my worldwide one and this is my AOL one, 195.93.32.8

Dunno whats wrong with the no-ip address, but at least I have Shoutcast

sounds better.

Although you still have the skipping happening.
What kind of machine is running your Winamp/DSP combo?
Are the DNAS and Winamp/DSP combo on the same machine?

This doesn't work: http://www.crowfield99.servermp3.com:8000/

I don't use nor have ever used dynamic DNS services, so I can't trouble shoot that for you.

Yeah, they are both running on the same machine... Hope they are ment too!

I am running a AMD 800 Mhz, 128 MB RAM, Windows 98 SE and a 40 G Hard drive. In a few days or so I should be getting a new PC. With a P4, 512MB RAM, 80GB Hard Drive and Windows XP Home. I think that should do it shouldn't it?

Im glad its working! Just a pain with the no-ip.com thing... Cant complain!
