Just put them in your program files\winamp3\skins\ folder.

moving from GD to WA3 TS.

I did it but that didn't work. W3 says "the skin you are trying to load doesn't seem to be supported by W3"

what now?

WindowsME problem maybe? Anyway, some skins make heavy use of desktop alpha and, by default, these will only run on Windows 2000 and XP. Though if you get this error, right-click and select "Save target As..." on the download link and download it to the Winamp3/skins folder. Restart. You should be able to select it from there.

Also... after you get the skins to work in Winamp3, you must also understand that Winamp2 skins will only PARTIALLY work in Winamp3. Only a very few WA3 components will apply the skin. So know this ahead of time so that you won't need to complain of the skins not fully working in Winamp3 later on.

Don't email or PM me concerning Winamp. Instead, either start a NEW TOPIC or post a REPLY in the appropriate thread in these forums. This will also benefit others who may have a similar question or problem. But before posting, please first Search the forums and read all FAQs and all Sticky threads.

OK. So what you're saying is that you have one or more .wsz (WA2 skin) files located within your Winamp3\Skins folder? And that you are able to select them from the skins list in Winamp3 by right-clicking > Skins > choosing that skin? And that it is THEN that you receive that "The skin you're trying to load doesn't seem to be a supported skin by Winamp3" error??

OK. Very unusual. This is the very first time I have ever seen this reported by anybody here.

Try this... First close Winamp3. Browse to your Winamp3\Skins folder. Right-click on that folder. If it is set to read-only, change it to archive instead. Re-open Winamp3. See if the problem goes away. Let me know.

What build of WA3 you are using would be usefull also.

Right click anywhere on WA3, choose the first option from the top of the context menu., should say something like "Nullsoft Winamp 3.0", this should pop a "credits" box up, on the first screen, the one with the funky WA3 logo, right at the bottom it should tell you what build you are running under the copyright logo.

Some of the developer builds have more problems with WA2 skins than the release version, WA2 skin support is flaky at best.

Sorry for the late reply,
Nunzio I tried your solution but didn't solve.

Mr Jones, It is buld #488, also I just installed W 3.0d and the same problem.
there is something interesting, the classic.wsz file is loaded problem free. the problem occures about other skins.
the bitmaps inside classic.wsz are 16 color and I tested one of other skins and it contains 256 color. is it related?

any more help please?

Hey like a miracle the problem is solved!!! strang! maybe reinstall of WA3 solved it. oh my god but the skin doesn't seem nice with WA3 the problem is playlist editor, I wish it could be the skin provided by the WA2 skin instead of WA3 deffault.

anyway Thanks for all helps and best wishes,
