All music files are showing Winamp Media Files
When they are really MP3
My problem is I need to copy my music files over to a removable PCMCIA drive for my IPAQ PDA/MP3 player. I know I dowloaded them as MP3 files orginally but the are allshowing up as Winamp Media Files types - yest are still MP3 files. After reading many posts, I tried using the Audio Conversion Wizard, but the files are still not being recognized by the PocketPC Windows Media Player which is version 4.1.0.0160 and specially designed for the IPAQ. When I use File Explorer they are listed as Winamp Media Files which is what I think the problem is. Any flashes of brilliance out there?!?! Thanks in advance! Neal |

Winamp Media File just means they are associated with Winamp to. Meaning when you open them, they will play in Winamp. They are still the same files as they always were, nothing changed.

Reaper is right
The Compaq tech support lead me wrong. The files do work when copied over to the memory of the IPAQ.
For some reason, the IPAQ wont reconginze the Storage Card as a possible source for Music even the the Storage card is recognized by File Explorer. My problem is a IPAQ/WINDOW MEDIA problem Thanks anyway |
