making winamp main mp3 player

how do I make winamp my primary player?
the window that was supposed to allow me to set it up at install did not give me option to set it as main player

Go to: Winamp -> Prefs (Ctrl+P) -> Setup -> Filetypes
Select MP3, PLS, M3U, plus any others of your choice to make Winamp the default player.
