A question
Hi Guys,
I know how to set up two DJ's etc and what I must do. But just have a simple question. When its the other DJ's turn to DJ. What do I need to do? Do I need to stop playing my songs and click on Dissconect in the Shoutcast Source, Do I need to just shut down the Shoutcast DNAS? Or both? I am just a bit lost with that bit! Thanks very much guys

The first DJ needs to disconnect from the DNAS before the second DJ can connect.
If you are hosting the DNAS, then make sure to forward portBase+1 (the source port) to the DNAS machine to allow the external source in. Make sure the SrcIP setting in the DNAS is configured appropriately. SrcIP=ANY is good. |

Can I just ask, to help set a friend up on a network who does not have a clue on how to set up. Can we use her webspace as the IP address? I know you can use .pls files on Lycos webspace

You'll need shell access to install the DNAS on the "web space"
Check out the results from a SHOUTcast forum search on 'telnet ssh'. Look for a post by clubexplosion titled: Install shoutcast on host Note: Other search criteria may yield more results. |

I could use Shell on my website, does this take any space up etc? I would rather use my PC as a server if it does take a lot of bandwidth etc up.
If it does take a lot up do you know of any free shell hosts? |
