Why the TIMED OUT and still dont understand why...
Hope somebody excist on this planet who can explain to me in plain english why i can't listen to my own F......g mixes !it gives TIMED OUT in the winamp window.
--------------------------------------------------------------------- As FESTERHEAD wrote :Machines on the same lan as the DNAS (you) need to use the lan ip of the DNAS to connect/listen. Machines not on the same lan as the DNAS (the rest of the world) need to use the real, world-visible ip of the DNAS to connect/listen. --------------------------------------------------------------------- So why is that,a bug...? if i connect to my website and click the link why should that be a problem,if the owner is not able to listen to it the real way it can never be monitored the real way ! Cause it seems to me that my internal connection is ALLWAYS perfect. So perhaps you can call it a BUG ? So can someone explain what happens (technical)if you connect in that way and it refuses to play ,is shoutcast to stupid perhaps cause there must be a reason for it ! I CAN listen to it ! but only by connecting internal via the 192.168.0.0 bla bla story. Why not via my website where the link is http://www.hitwalker.nl/test.html Yes ive read the FAQ's but no answers. And how do i stop that f....g buffering, yes ive read the FAQ's but unable to understand how to change it. So who like to help me (using the chat on my site)to solve this in a fast way so i can continue with my life ..huh? BTW my mixes can be listened on a friends website. well it depends what kind of router/firewall you have running,
alot of routers use NAT connection sharing, in which case you have to listen using a local ip address ( 192.168.0.* ) now if you had a router configured "correctly" your router would "route" your local comp on the internal network to the external ip address and port. I had to do the same till I got a proper router in place on my network. it's not a bug. it's routing. Well the router i use is from netgear.
But for example if there would be something wrong with the audio on the "real web" i would not hear it cause connecting with a computer 1 meter next to me wouldnt be a problem. And for example ...if there would be a "buffering" problem i also will never hear it !...agree ? |

yes I do agree, you wouldn't know,
but it's still not a shoutcast problem, it's a routing problem! and if there was buffering trouble with would never know any way if your shoutcast server is on the same network even if it did route correctly. try emailing support for your router and see if they can help u fix the routing problem. Yep that would be an idea !
But i do have this feeling nothing will be answered, its not funny writing them and get your mail returned. so that leaves the other question...Can you explain to me what i should do to lower the quality or whatever to stop that buffering. |

Well ive got that plugin installed and configured it like it sais ion the faq's but a friend said its still the same,so perhaps you can direct me in the right direction where and how i should do this.
Please dont mention the FAQ's page ,thats to technical. These things should be explained in a easier way. I know i,m askin much but looks like its the only way at this point for me to understand it all. John |
