What problems are you having with the standard decoder?

don't use winamp for that, especially if you're unhappy with it - there's plenty out there try http://www.google.com im to lazy to do it

This wasn't by the way the best place to post, GD the biggest collection of weird (but interresting) people, who post a lot of useless (but quite funny and even sometimes interresting) shit

no offence everyone - i like you anyway

Its all personal opinion. Some believe that other Mp3 Players have better decoders but most the time its in their head and the differences are unknown to the human ear. Therefore nobody has ever released a decoder for mp3 input to challenge the Nullsoft one or at least on a large scale.

Work in Progress

Yeah, the nullsoft one works perfectly well - why use something else?

Did you really mean DEcoder, or did you mean ENcoder.
There is really only one way to decode an Mp3 and provided it is accurate there is nothing to choose between them except for speed perhaps.
Encoding is a totally different matter, visit Hydrogen Audio and you will find endless debate on the subject of Mp3s, as well as other compression formats.

Yeah, do watch out for the rabid Bilbos. They bite. And watch out for White Ravens as well, they tend to be very malicious.

If a White Raven smiles, it's already too late.

Welcome to the Forums, it's really fun here. Lots to talk about and stuff... Though occassionally, people just spew out random shit, but then again, that happens in real life all the time now, doesn't it?

sounds like it has built-in noise reduction, or something. this will, in theory, dilute the quality of your files if they're good recordings, well encoded....
