Need more info from you. When exactly does this happen? Are you ABLE to start Winamp3?
First do this... This "may" be a 3rd party skin issue. Could be due to another 3rd party component installation as well. Browse to your Winamp3\Skins folder. Move/remove everything within that folder to a temp location for now EXCEPT for these 2 files... Classic.wsz Default.wal Leave ONLY the above 2 files intact within the Skins folder. Restart Winamp3. Let me know if the problem goes away. Then we'll take it from there. Don't email or PM me concerning Winamp. Instead, either start a NEW TOPIC or post a REPLY in the appropriate thread in these forums. This will also benefit others who may have a similar question or problem. But before posting, please first Search the forums and read all FAQs and all Sticky threads. Its a clean install, no plug-ins. i only get those two messages at the splash screen once, and thats when i start winamp right after installation, after that when i try to start it the splash screen comes up and then disapears and winamp closes.

OK. You have NO 3rd party skins or components. Good...
Let's perform a completely fresh uninstall/reinstall, using this procedure, and in this order... FIRST... shut down and restart your system. 1. Completely uninstall Winamp3 via Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs 2. Completely delete the Winamp3 folder and all folders within from your hard drive 3. Reinstall the latest public release of Winamp3. 4. Download/install the official wa3update patch. Don't forget this step. The update contains the latest waveOut & DirectSound Output components, plus latest midi, mod, wav, ogg inputs that didn't make it to 3.0 setup due to the deadline and code freeze. 5. Start up Winamp3 ____________________________________ Everything should be OK at that point. But in any event, get back to me after you do this to let me know how it went. |

Keep the VIS in windowed mode and not fullscreen, if you want it to go faster.
You can also download/install the Classic Visualization Component to allow you to use all those FAST and awesome Winamp2 visualizations in Winamp3 as well, such as the oh-so-awesome Winamp2 Milkdrop vis by Ryan Geiss. |

Oh, well that's just the way it's set up. But there are certain "missing" Spectrum analyzer options like Fire etc, which is not a bug, just a feature that is not implemented yet. It is coming in a later release.
REMEMBER... Winamp3 v1.0 is NOT Classic Winamp v2.x, nor is it intended to be. ![]() Just recognize it for what it is... an entirely NEW player. You can have both Winamp2 and Winamp3 installed on your puter, same as I and many many other people do, if you like, because they are 2 SEPERATE players/applications. One is not an "upgrade" to the other. You wouldn't ask why Windows Media Player doesn't have the options/features that Winamp2 does, would you? See?

nodmasterx...
It's been a full YEAR since you last posted in these forums with a question/problem. So something must have just RECENTLY happened in Winamp2 that is causing CDDB lookup problems for you. Go over to the Winamp 2 Technical Support forum, and ask for some help there if you're having problems with CDDB lookup in Winamp2. |
