That means your DNAS cannot contact the SHOUTcast yp (yellow pages). Are you having DNS problems?
Connection problems? Access to the Internet? |

no... after some investigation into my IP, it is coming up connection refused, though when I do a check on the IP address through a link in the sticky posts, it says that I am not behind a firewall. I don't know enough about IP's and firewalls to decipher why the IP isn't allowing incoming info (i.e. shoutcast YP)

Are the necessary ports open in your firewall and are they being forwarded to the DNAS machine?

when i do a check on port 8000, through a link in the sticky posts which checks to see if the port is open, it says: "connection refused" no firewall detected. I don't know how to work around a firewall, this is my first time at this, anywhere i can find step by step instructions to open up the port. If yes, is this going to make the system unsafe, im on a work computer?

If the yp cannot connect to you, other folks will not either.
Lan folks, though, should be able to conenct/listen. Just have them use the lan ip of the DNAS. |
