only one playlist at a time in loaded playlist
my loaded playlist window only shows 1 playlist "playlist 001". Loading a new playlist just overrights the one playlist. There is no entry labeled 'rename playlist' either.I have tried complete uninstall and reinstall and still the same thing.
I think this started after installing a program called "moodlogic". I have since uninstalled that too and then uninstalled and reinstalled Winamp. please help. Lance |

I realise that but where it used to say:
playlist 001 playlist 002 playlist 003 [etc] rename playlist (or something to that effect) it now only says: "playlist 001" it never shows more than one playlist. If I click playlist -> load playlist and load an existing playlist it still only says "playlist 001" If I've happened to have renamed the original playlist to , let say, 'mylist', then when I load a new list it still shows up as 'mylist'. So, is that any more clear? |

Ok. Listen...
If you have any one playlist selected, and you click the Playlist button and select "Load Playlist", it will behave exactly the same as right-clicking on that playlist and selecting "Load Playlist", where in both cases it will REPLACE what's already loaded, REGARDLESS of what playlist is supposed to be loaded in according to what is indicated as the playlist name in the right side-car. It will overwrite the contents of any existing Playlist. This is the way it's always been, and is actually a bug that has yet to be addressed. This has never changed. It's always been that way. Nothing's different about this behavior. Now here's what I do... If I have one Playlist loaded and I want another added without it replacing the other, I cannot select "Load Playlist". I must instead select "Create new playlist". Then I rename that playlist appropriately, and make sure to SAVE it. The reason I save it is because it CAN get overwritten again, as I described above, and ALSO when double-clicking a file to play. That way, all I have to do is right-click on that playlist and select "Load Playlist", and load BACK the saved playlist that BELONGS there. The trick to avoiding this? Load ALL your Playlists and NEVER EVER unload them. Enqueue (not play - playing replaces the content of the playlist) - enqueue more songs into each appropriate Playlist as time goes by and as new songs are acquired for any particular Playlist. Then resave them again. But never ever unload them. That's the trick. This is the only bug that the Playlist Editor has that bothers me. The only one. But I can live with it, and have been living with it. ![]() So, you do the same and enjoy this FREE player the same as I do.

Quick summing up:
1. Right click "Playlist 001" 2. Select "rename" 3. Type in new name 4. Hit Enter (for name change to take effect) 5. Playlist button -> Create new playlist 6. Repeat 1-4 7a. If you have a pre-saved playlist (.m3u, .b4s, .pls file) Playlist button -> Load playlist 7b. If you don't, then ceate the new playlist as normal: via: Add -> dir / files, or by dragging dir's/files from Explorer 8. To backup/save any playlist (incase they do get overwritten), use: "Playlist button -> Save" to save to .b4s or .m3u file |

What is the point of having a b4s playlist then?
If winamp save a playlist is stores the name of the playlist inside the b4s file. Why does it not load name from the b4s file and load the contents into a new playlist with this stored name? Only if you have a playlist loaded with the same name can the contents be replaced. Do you know of any application with such strange behaviour? Imagine M$ Word always loaded documents over one you were working on.... |

Odd names on playlists.
I can (in theory) Rename my playlists. But when i do this, my Winamp 3
Gives the playlist odd names like to a playlist should be "Reel Big Fish", Winamp inputs yyy. What the heck is wrong??? |

Narqulie...
That shouldn't be happening at all. Have you held back something or left something "out" of your post above? Did you happen to "check" the checkbox for Internationalization support (experimental) that is left UNchecked by default during Winamp3 installation/setup? Strange characters like "yyy" often occur when you install with Internationalization support. Well I'll assume you have. Since you have not given enough info and until you can provide more info (if it is something other than what I suspect), I'll assume that you've installed WA3 with the problematic Internationalization support... You need to first close Winamp3, and either delete the Internationalization WAC file (located within your Winamp\Wacs folder), or if that doesn't work, then you would have to completely uninstall and then reinstall Winamp3 again, using the exact installation procedure outlined in this post, but do not check/uncheck any of the defaults. Leave everything "as is". Installing Winamp3 with Internationalization support breaks almost everything in Winamp3. Quoted directly from the Winamp3 Troubleshooter Guide... Quote:

I have one problem with Playlists. I rename playlist, i.e. Results May Vary, then save it. But when I unload playlist (I am assuming unloading just removes it from selector). Then when I click on the playlist that I just saved, it is named Playlist001. Did I do something that I should not have?
*Edit* The file is not renamed, but the playlist in the Playlist selector. Just thought I'd clarify. |
