Video Playback (MPEG2) in 2.90 Final

Winamp has serious problems playing mpeg2 files (or vobs). As I read v. 2.9beta2 already had problems with PowerDVD XP decoder. Issues still not solved?

I hardly have MPEG4s and usually have MPEG2s. It's a pity ... so I have to use Media Player Classic for that.

I also have two suggestions: when you cklick-press on the video-window it should be moveable (at least I like it this way) and a non-framed video window would be nice, too.

However, much better than Winamp 3.

Main Menu -> Options
Checkmark "Easy Move"

Don't know about the vids . . . can you post some links?
Maybe it's a codec/filter issue?
Has anyone else here got any VOB-Layered MPEG2 files (is that what you meant?), and if so, do they play ok in 2.90 Final?

Any samples? Links will do.
Exact symptoms?

Hopefully we can get this fixed for 2.91

This bug was already listed in one of those bug lists that Christophe posted... MPEG2 is a no go at this point. If you want a sample, grab the vob off a DVD or grab the dat file off of a SVCD and try to play it... the only thing that happens is a video window resize - no sound and no video.

p.s. mms:// streams still don't work if they don't have any extension. I still don't see why in_wm exists now... dshow can play everything in_wm can and then they only have to fix one plugin.

Confirmed and reproduced.
Cheers APD.

I've found a workaround for some mms:// audio streams (wma)
Use http instead of mms://

Doesn't work, but used to in 2.81
mms://radioio.wm.llnwd.net/radioio-hi/.wma

Works in 2.90
http://radioio.wm.llnwd.net/radioio-hi/.wma

Don't know if it works for all of them though ?! (probably not)
I don't have any other urls to play with at the mo.
Send me some radio station ASX files please . . . hehe.

I suppose WMA support is still available in the full version for people who want wma support but no video support. Maybe some hack/workaround can be implemented so WMA is handled by in_dshow only when in_wm.dll isn't present.

And yes, mms:// without extension is still borked.
