Alternative to WinAmp for shoutcast?
I am having a slight problem here. I had this other computer to host my site and SHOUTcast station on, but since it was messing up my DSL connection I had to disconnect it. I want to host SHOUTcast on this computer, but it's one that I use a lot, and since WinAmp 2 is my favorite media player (I don't like WinAmp 3 as much), there would be a conflict when I open stuff, I know there probably isn't a way tp use WinAmp 3 to stream, maybe there is a different program like WinAmp, if someone knows, please tell me. I want to get my station up and going again and still be able to use WinAmp 2 for listening to music. Thanks.

You can I think run 2 instances of wianmp, go to options/preferences/options and tick: allow multiple instances, that might work for you, one to stream with & 1 to listen with.

Dang it...I really thought that would work. My problem though is I don't open WinAmp before playing files, I double click files, and it of course opens in the player that is open, which was the one I wanted SHOUTcast to run in. That was a good idea, but it didn't work...Does anyone else have ideas?

In response to the question, if you right click the file, you should have an "Open With..." option, just pick a different application to open your media files. |
