Can't broadcast with Siemens router...help!

I've done everything from reading these forums (which hasn't proven to helpful given the lack of troubleshooting on Siemens routers, specifically the 2624) to reading the FAQs to reading Siemens' "knowledge base" (or lack thereof)...I've done everything but through the router out and I doubt that will help. Basically, I'm getting the shaft on this because I can't see what isn't working.

Yesterday, I managed to get IE to open up a password dialog (which I saw as a good thing because my router has a username and password on it) but past that I'm getting more 404s and/or connection refused. I've got internal and external ports of 8000 and 8001, respectively, and I've set my router to make my computer as a "virtual server", whatever the heck that means.

If there's someone out there with distinct and clear knowledge of what to do specifically with my router to get it to "open up" then I'd love to hear it. Otherwise, <bender>I'm boned.</bender>
