Running a live stream from my website
Can anyone tell me how to run shoutcast or whutever from my website? I want the live audio to come from my computer, but I want users to connect to my website to listen.

You'll need remote access to your website to install the DNAS.
Many webhosts do not allow you to install services. Ask them if you have the right privileges. Check out the results from a SHOUTcast forum search on 'telnet ssh'. Look for a post by clubexplosion titled: Install shoutcast on host Note: Other search criteria may yield more results. |

Or, you could also just have the DNAS on your computer also, then have the link on your webpage go to http://yourIPaddress:port/listen.pls. This is currently what I'm doing as I work out any bugs and get the hand of this whole shoutcast thing.

I would think you could just forward your music through microsoft netmeeting or player, and put that on your website, that way when someone connected to that http then it would play that live stream music. just an idea. please listen to my station.

Or, you can get an account from http://www.dyndns.org/ ...it has an auto-ip updater so you can give one link even if your IP changes at all..
