Media Library Questions

I'm a bit of a newie to the whole winamp world, so I'm guessin' my questions may seem a little simple to those mroe experienced than myself. I just swapped from Winamp 2.8 to 3, and was wondering:

1) Is there a keyboard shortcut to pull up the media library - like 'J' use to pull up the search function in version 2.8

2) Whenever I click the forward button for the next song, it stops the song for about a second before it fades into the next one. Started getting really annoying

3) What exactly does 'crossfade' do?? Even when its off, the songs still seem to melt together at the start and finish. One of my mates has it so it'll fade when he swaps a song mid-way through. Is that related to crossfade?? Because I can't seem to quite manage it.

Any ideas would be muchly appreciated,

1) When I tried the Alt-L, nothing happens. I have clicked on Winamp so it is selected, but still nothing. I also tried on the playlist - same result. I'm holding down Alt, pressing L. Nothing.

2) Thanks for the answer to part 3 - it explains this partly. The problem occurs when I have crossfader on. When I press the 'next song' button, before it starts to fade, the song cuts out for about a second, and then starts back up as it begins to fade out and the other comes in.
