no sound playing .MID files
Running ME. System has AC'97 driver for sound and MPU-401 compatible midi device. Everything down loads and runs fine except .MID files which produce no sound. I have tried everything. Anyone got any ideas?

Hi
![]() What version # of Winamp are you running? You've tried everything? Such as . . . ? Prefs (Ctrl+P) -> Plugins -> Input -> MIDI Plugin -> config: Device tab: change to soundchip's midiOut device Try other devices, including software (DirectMusic) devices. (note: requires DirectX v8.x or higher) Still no audio? Misc tab: Try switching from "streamed" to "immediate" playback method. Naturally, you've also made sure the MIDI slider is up high enough and not muted in Windows Volume Control -> Playback? Note: MIDI is sometimes referenced as Synthesizer with some sound cards/chips. |

reply to moderator
I am using winamp3 downloaded today.I did control +p and set the mido control to mpu-401. In addition I have checked all my audio to make sure that nothing was mutedI do not see with a ctrl+p anything that allows me to check for plugins etc as you suggested. I guess I am not sure how to get there. There is no misc tab that I can find. I have download and played mp3, vidio with audio etc. The site I am downloading from is tabledit.com which downloads tabulator music. I am a guitar picker and I am trying to get the sheet for saltydog blues. I don't know how to switch from streamed to immediate maybe you give give me a roadmap? All my volume controls are on. I really appreciate the prompt reply and thanks for the help
