No media library???
Howdy,
For some reason, I can't use the Media Library function in Winamp 3. When right clicking on any song in a playlist, I don't have the usual options for Reload info & Delete info from media library, and I have no idea why??? Also, when I click on the Media Library button on the main window, nothing comes up...No media library icon in the thinger...why no media library??? It's causing some strange problems in my playlist, as some titles appear in italics, and some don't...I haven't had too much of a play around to see exactly what the deal is in this respect, (it's my work pc, i have local admin rights) but i'm sure that getting my media library to work would let me solve this problem anyway. I have some plugins installed, but I don't see how these would affect this, anyway, here they are. Poppler Replacement & Explorer Playlist O/S is Windows XP w/sp1. If anyone could help me with this problem, it would be greatly appreciated, also if any further information is required, just ask, and I'll do what I can. Cheers, Pat. |

During installation there is an option to not install the media library. The default setting should have installed it so could you have possibly unchecked that box during the install?
As for the weird song titles there are a few things that could be causing that. WA3 uses id3v2 tags to display artist-title info, if it doesn’t like the id3 tag info or it doesn’t have any it uses filename/foldername to create artist-title info for the playlist. Also internationalization causes some problems, it is very buggy. Did you choose to install that? If it is possible that you unchecked the media library option on install you would need to completely uninstall/reinstall WA3 to get it installed. I don’t find it very useful so I don’t have it installed now. It seems kind of buggy but I do know people that use it and like it. If it is possible that you installed internationalization then I would recommend doing a complete uninstall/ reinstall without it. If you need to reinstall do this. You can not install WA3 over a previous version so first you should copy all your skins/components/addons to another folder then uninstall using the add/remove programs function in control panel. Then delete the entire WA3 folder. Next install the latest public release (Winamp 3.0d build 488) available here and the official wa3update. Then I would try it and see if your problems have been solved. If so reinstall any third party components you have saved. |

Thanks m0e,
Being the easter break at the moment, I won't be in at work for a week to see if this works, but it would seem that I never installed it in the first place I'll give your plan a try when I get back to work. Cheers, Pat. |
