Ask about Skin Design

Hello fellows!

I look for a good tool to design my skins.
Somebody can indicate one for me?

Currently, I'm using MS Paint. It works fine, but I want
to try a different program, with more options.

I used Photoshop and Corel too, but this programs are too much heavy for the system.

If somebody can help me, I appreciate.

Thanks!

Try paintshop pro, it's a bit lighter on system resources
http://www.jasc.com

Trial downloads available I believe.

What's that other one, the one the Linux geeks froth at the mouth over...

Ultimate Paint is probably a fair bit lighter on system resources than any of those already mentioned, but it isn't as powerful as any of them. It's not bad though - it's like mspaint but easier to use and with more sophisticated tools, effects, translucencies, and things like that.

side note: I wouldn't use (windows) gimp for anything imprtant. it crases every 5 minutes, which is very annoying... but on the other hand... it's free

Gimp never crashed on me. The worst part of gimp is it's interface. It's very confusing and takes getting used to.

The interface is hard because everyone is used to Photoshop and typical windows apps, I'm sure of this... and I'm still trying to get used to it

By the way, this avatar has been made with The Gimp

I've never used it, but I've always thought it is such a wierd name for a graphics app - The Gimp.

I mean, if you tell someone that you're going to "play around with photoshop" it sounds fine. But what about, "I'm just going to play around with the GIMP"?

p.s. The Gimp's sleeping...
Go wake him up then!

It's not that. The interface is just flawed. Well, that's what you get for it being free.
