mp3 no longer plays (no time when loaded in winamp)
This is what happened: I installed WindowsXP Pro onto a new hard drive. My mp3s are on my old hard drive. I reinstalled winamp onto my new hard drive but when I play mp3s off my old hard drive, they appear to be less than a second long.
I cannot move or copy the mp3s from there current location. Can they be corrupt somehow? I was wondering if maybe for security reasons (the NTFS format), somehow something has been done to the mp3s. I tried running vbrfix but I got some error 75. Thanks.

A few days ago, I had one hard drive and my WindowsXP Pro was messed up. Since I needed another hard drive anyway, I installed a copy of XP Pro onto the new drive and my existing drive became my D drive.
At first, I couldn't even get to my MP3 folder on my old hard drive. It had been on the desktop and for whatever reason, when starting up my computer with my old hard drive as the D drive, I was unable to get into the desktop folder on that drive. I then had to restart, making my old hard drive the C drive again. In this way, I was able to move the MP3 folder to another location on that same drive. The problem now is that when starting up with my new drive as the C, I cannot access the mp3s on the other drive. Both drives are formatted NTFS. As I said, I cannot move or copy this folder. Also, the mp3s are now all less than a second long. Thanks. |

First check the filesizes of the files. Does that filesize match the 0:00 length, or normal length?
Next, what exactly happens when you try to move or copy the folder? Any error messages? |

The file lengths are the correct size for the mp3s.
I do not know the exact error when I try to copy or move the mp3s (I'm not at the computer) but I will check it out. I did check already to make sure they are not read only though, so that is one problem I know it is not. |
