Need Help Getting My Server Up

I think that i have succsesfully connected my server...but i am not sure how i can get the webadress for the station.

please help me once you read this.

DNAS link: http://yourDNASip:yourDNASport
Listen link: http://yourDNASip:yourDNASport/listen.pls

Replace yourDNASip with the ip of the DNAS (SHOUTcast server) and yourDNASport with the DNAS port (default is 8000)

Also, machines on the same lan as the DNAS (you) need to use the lan ip of the DNAS to connect/listen.
Machines not on the same lan as the DNAS (the rest of the world) need to use the real, world-visible ip of the DNAS to connect/listen.

See RFC1918 for more information. Scroll down and look for the section titled:
3. Private Address Space

How to find your ip address (Part I).
How to find your ip address (Part II).

Finally, you can get a static name, such as foo.bar.com (not as cool as that, though

) from http://www.no-ip.com or one of the other myriad of Dynamic DNS Services.
Then, your links would be:
DNAS link: http://foo.bar.com:yourDNASport
Listen link: http://foo.bar.com:yourDNASport/listen.pls

i dont know how to get all of those different ips... i put my computers ip for
*Portbase
*SrcIP
*DestIP

please help me with wat i should put in the Edit Config catigorys cause im st00pid

Leave the PortBase as 8000.
Leave both SrcIP and DestIP as ANY.
The only thing you really need to be concerned with at first is MaxUser and Password.

thank you tom. ive got another question for u...
i can never connect and i dont know why it always fails and starts reconnecting.. and it always says "[yp_rem] yp.shoutcast.com removed me!"

After 30 seconds of having no source, the DNAS tells the yp that you're not streaming and asks to be removed from the directory. The yp does as instructed and you get that message.

Are you able to connect your Winamp/DSP combo to your DNAS?

umm i think that i got it figured out now
but explain to me how to play music on it... i have kazaa.. and i could just drag them from my shared folder right...

do i have to sign up with SHOUTcast.com or somthin if i want it to be a public server...??

Play the file on Winamp and the DSP will reencode it to the desired bitrate, samplerate and number of channels and hand it off to the DNAS.

As for getting listed on SHOUTcast.com you will need to make sure you have the "Make this server public" checked in the DSP. You will see an yp_add in the DNAS log when you are added. It takes a few minutes from the first yp_tch until you are actually visible in the yp.
