Input device...?

Hey, just needing a couple of quick answers.

The input device selection allows for Winamp, which is recommended and then your soundcard input. Whenever I listen on my PC with the soundcard input I can hear the music and when I click talk, it does the proper fading for speech.

But when I get someone to check it for me, they can either hear the music with winamp selected but not me. Obviously because the speak button isn't even an option.

But when I use the soundcard option, for somereason they can't hear the music. Only me, when I use the speak button. I'm not sure why. I've tried all the different sound output plugins, from DirectSound the Output Wave plugin and the crossfader. Although the crossfade doesn't even come across the net to them. Just skips to the next song.

That, and how does one get the ID3 Tags to zip along the net to our listeners?

Thanks for any input.

Sounds like your mixers need configuring.
Check out the Sticky post titled:
SHOUTcast: Important Info & Answers to FAQs. READ ME!

Scroll down a bit and look for the section titled:
DSP Issues -> Using the Microphone with Music

Also, the crossfade output plugin only works if your in soundcard mode. For an alternate solution, use a DSP stacker.

For the tags, with Winamp the active application:
Ctrl+P -> Plug-ins -> Input -> Nullsoft MPEG Audio Decoder -> Configure -> Title tab

Note: I'm not sure what you select there gets transmitted. Give it a try.

The ID3 tags do not get transferred. Every 8192 (by default (I think that's it)) bytes the stream name along with the artist and title is embedded in the mp3 data and players that support metadata will display this info.

All the information on that forum thread is great. But it doesn't help me at all. For some reason, I don't have some of the same options that are being described. For some reason, all the mixer stuff is different. I only have the mute checkbox. Everything seems to be moving correctly, when I click the speak button. However, it just doesn't transmit the songs. Just the speaker. There are quite a number of people who had the same problem it seems, but regardless of what I do with the mixer(s) it doesn't help. Any insight would be appreciated. If a picture of my mixers would help, I can provide them.

Thank you.

Because it seems in the other thread that everyone required screenshots I have provided mine. This shows what I get when I hit the Mixer button. As well as the Advanced button in the volume settings. I'm not sure why, but I don't have the "What U Have" option, or any other likeness metioned in the above thread. Please take a look. Any time helping me is greatly appreciated. If you need to email please do so.

Are there unchecked options available for the recording portion?

Mixers -> Options -> I forget. Fiddle around here -> Recording radio button

No, unfortunately, every single option is checked in the recording and volume settings. I show sliders for every possible option given to me on my machine. I am totally at a loss. I even checked with Creative's website for new drivers, however I have the latest one. I'm positive that this is a full-duplex sound card, as I have done real-time voice communication with it. I just can't wrap my head around this one...

One other thing I just noticed. When I broadcast with the soundcard input, SHOUTcast.com doesn't list me. However when I broadcast through winamp, it does...probably for the same reasons I can't get music with voice. Any insight?
