CD Song Switch Problem in 2.91

Hey,

Im running 2.91, on Win98 and when I enter a CD into my computer, Winamp loads and automatically starts playing the first track. However if I press 'Skip Track' Or I select another track 1 of 3 things happens.

1) My computer simply freezes and i have to manually reset

2) My computer, without any freezing or prior notice, resets its self and during startup runs a Scandisc, so obviously this reset isnt reconised by Windows

3) My computer switchs to DOS mode and displays "Windows Protection Mode. Please Reset your computer" (or something along those lines)

This happens on more than 1 cd, and it happens on both retail CDs and Copyed CDs
Can anyone explain these reactions to me just trying to play differant tracks

System specs? (mobo, cpu, ram, sound, video, cd-rom, directx)

Winamp -> Prefs -> Plugins -> Input -> CD plugin -> config:
Check/uncheck:
enable digital audio extraction
sample input from soundcard

(requires winamp restart for changes to take effect)
