freeze at max volume

Winamp v3.0D freezes at max volume repeating a sample of the song currently playing roughly 5 times per second, and can only be stopped by hitting the stop button and playing song again, but likely to happen again right away or within same song. Seems to be tied to other program's memory usage, as I have been able to lessen it by closing other applications. Sorry if someone else has had a post and solved the problem, but this thing is going to give me heart failure with sudden deafening bursts of whatever is playing. Starles people anywhere in the area. I look like a goober, and have to start babbling incoherently.

Are you having the same problem with both Winamp 2.91 and Winamp3 v1.0d ?
At a guess, this is a bug in your onboard sound drivers.
Try the manufacturer's site for updated drivers.

I doubt very much if anyone here can reproduce this.

Also make sure DirectX is updated to at least v8.1 or higher.
