Not a bug. The intro file sample rate and number of channels must match the target stream or 'Bad Things' will happen. You are experiencing 'Bad Things'.

Check out the results from a SHOUTcast forum search on 'intro file'.

Look for a post by sonicclub titled:
Intro File won't work, help!

Look for a post by Vchat20 titled:
Shoutcast Intro File?

As for the backup file, I'm not sure what you mean.

I know this is no the place to write about this subject , but i dont think this will harm you.
i just have 2 more quistions:
1.why when i disconnect my radio station and the backup file is activeted and the listeners hear this file over and over so why when i reconnect my radio, the server dont reboardcast to the listeners ? it just keep playing the listeners the back up file and dont get them auto buffering when iam reconnect. what can i do about this ? 2.i want to disable the playlist from playing song after song how can i do this ?

1. Once a user gets the backup file, then action is needed by the client to remove it by either disconnecting or reloading the stream.

2. Winamp -> Options -> Preferences -> Options -> check the "Manual playlist advance" option.

The client (listener) will need to re-connect, not you.

Use the plugin mentioned here: http://forums.winamp.com/showthread.php?threadid=73372
or set the DSP to Soundcard Input and you may also need to configure your mixers properly.

Ok , this page of forum iam already read not helping me much but never mind i have a quistion about the fadding effect in the winamp plugin could : directsound output.

the problam is when i configure things in this plugin and the fadding effect is activeted and stuff everying ok but the shoutcast is not streaming this fadding thing.
it just stop streaming you can see it in input levels.

also i found that the selince is not so perfect it's can take like 2 sec of the song.
what can i do ?

by the way , the mic and voice iam sure there is another sultion to this , in the next version of shoutcast maby you put an option of speaking when iam broadcating trouth the "Winamp Recommneded" option.
and also an option in the shoutcast himself to mute music.

it's be alot easer to broadcast this way and pepole will be able to broadcast voice and mic in a good quailty less quistions and stuff.

also i wanna to ask how i play 2 songs togther ?
for exsample i wanna play a song and a *.mp3 file of my voice recording togther.

Other thing i forget to say is , when you broadcasting music from the soundcard input in "what you hear" mode the quality is very bad and there is some distrabing noises and stuff. the winamp recommended is the best to broadcast music, but pepole can`t mic and voice.

Winamp works in the following way:
Input plugin -> EQ -> DSP -> Output plugin

SHOUTcast is a DSP so it does not pick up anything an Output plugin does if Winamp is set to the Input Device.

As for it sounding bad when set to Soundcard Input well all I can say is it shouldn't. This basically records what your soundcard is playing and sends it out. Make sure your volumes aren't too high otherwise you'll get clipping (the vu meters should NOT reach the very top).

if your using windows heres what you do. Go to your volume control and click options => properties then you should see a list, phone line should be listed. Let me know if you need any more help, and sorry for a long time for somebody to answer you!

my station has a plug-in built to allow talking in winamp mode. If interested e-mail/pm me and we can wor something out.

I never have problems in soundcard mode...as long as sound checks are done properly and levels are set correctly there shouldn't be much "sound card noise" which is the distortion you are hearing...

As far as a fader goes...direct sound (no offense) stinks. Try the sqrsoft advanced crossfader (which can be found int he output section of the winamp dl page). Don't take the "advanced" lightly. You will need to know what you are doing to play with that paticular mixer but other easier (less reliable) faders are available too.

Good luck with your problems.

if your modem is voice compatable then it will have its own default sound setting in the audio and sounds properties page (or in win98 the mutimedia properties) select it and the default sound recording device and open up the volume controls...ill bet its there now...
