Odd Problem

Well I dont exactly know how long this has been happening for, But I can only remember this problem as early as when i put the shoutcast stuff on my puter. But when Im casting (and not casting) I'll go through my mp3s and my computer will suddenly get very jerky and stop for a second. I've never had this problem before and I doubt its because my computer is shitty, I mean hell my computers a gaming rig.

Stats:

OS: 2k Pro
Ram: 327
Vid Card: Geforce 4
Mhz: 900 something, close to 1k

not exactly top notch for gaming but its getting upgraded. So any thoughts/ theorys on what the problem is?

well looks like you could use a better processor, ITs allright though. Try putting some more ram in there, sad to say cuz thats a lot. So try upgrading memory and processor, that should do the trick.

Your processor is fine. It sounds like there is a bg process or service that every once and a while decided it wants to eat up a bunch of cycles. Look and see what you have running... Sometimes some printer toolbox apps are evil like that because they try to poll the printer for its status periodically... junk like that.. just see what you have running, kill all non essencial processes and stop all non critical services and then see if you still get that problem.

a 300Mhz processor will encode fine so its not that

something probably runs in the backround every now and then that causes this

check to see if anything is scheduled to run every 'x' amounts of hours.

you may want to run something like nortan utilities, that usually fixes problems with windows, as the registry is easy to break, and usually does after a while with windows
