Getting the most from my Linux server
Before posting this, I've spent a couple days reading all the material I can find (including the FAQs on this page).
I have a ShoutCast server installed on my web server. I'm running the sc_serv and sc_trans on the same box. I've looked at providing my stream via a secondard box; but right now it seems more efficent to push the tunes to the server and avoid the bandwidth of sending it from another box. Problem is, ShoutCast server is pretty limiting for expansion. I'd like to offer a "Request" feature (mainly). Can anyone point me in the right direction for finding information for getting the most from my Linux setup? Or, as an alternative, should I really be looking at an NT solution to stream to my server? Thank you.
