Scratchy Broadcast.

Hi, I am new to shoutcast and started broadcasting last night for the first time. I have a ton of bandwidth (cable modem). My upstream bandwith is fairly consistant at 200k. My listeners were complaining about scratchyness. It was intermittant and seemed to stop if I muted the line in and the then un-muted it. It was really strange. Also, the level on my line in would turn up ALL the way by it self. It did this several time during my 2 hour broadcast. I am thinking I need a new soundcard. My input and output levels were low enough to not be distorted, overmodulated, or clipping. I have been a DJ for over 10 years and I am VERY technical when it comes to PCs as well as music equipment. I am running a SoundBlaster Live Gamer on Windows 2000 Pro. Has anyone seen similar issues?

Please help.

Regards,

Bob (Innuendo)
