Problems with talking live using microphone

I suppose lots of people already had this problem, but I don't know what goes wrong when I try to speak on my radiostation, the media player that tries to play my stream just rebuffers all the time. I tried switching encoding rates and all, what might be wrong? My soundcard is a VIA 8233 AC97.
