Getting the most from my Linux server

can I get a copy of your script?
doing the shuffle sounds easy.
I'm just not sure how difficult it might be to take requests because I would have to add the requested song right after the song that is currently playing. So I would have to figure that out too.
I suppose I could go by the log file.

Also for some reason, whenever I do kill -USR1 to update the playlist, it seems to work for a few min then the thing crashes.
