Help Please....Pretty Please.

Ok Mate... My friends have said that doesn't work and I'm beginning to think it could be me.
Just tell me if I have done everything right.
I downloaded the server and installed it. I also got the dsp plug-in so i can be a dj and opened that, chagned the port to 8000. password to changeme, and adress to 127.0.0.1, did all that stuff and now i play a song and connect and it says connected 14212606120 bytes or whateva. Have i done everything right mate? Or have i missed something.
