Noob question

I use shoutcast for the purpose of entertaining a small group of friends only. However when they login to me they say that the music keeps cutting on and off. I sit here with a medium adsl line.. Is it my internet connection that is too small ? I have tried to reduce the quality of the sending, but the music is still lagging for them.

What can I do to make them hear the music without it lagging, and getting cut off all the time ?
