ID3 Tag Bug - I dont know if this has been posted

When I go to some ID3 Tags on my songs, the comment box says "none" even though I know I put something else in there. This morning I tried to fix the problem but the comment box wouldnt change on hitting the update button (Id go back in and it would be back to saying "none") Does anyone know why this happens and how to fix it.

maybe the file has become write protected at some point

what kind of files are you trying to modify?
if it was write protected, it would give an error message
