playlists

I've just downloaded winamp for the first time after being used to real player and windows media player.
I've put a cd into my computer and saved the playlist, yet when I take the cd out and try to play my playlist nothing happens, don't have this problem with the other two media players I've got.
I've tried both winamp2 & winamp3.
I realise I'm being ultra thick but any help would be appreciated.

Taking your cd out and trying to play a saved playlist would only save the playlist format. Not the songs, if thats what your talking about.

You can put your cd in, then load the playlist then play it that way.
You would need to ripp the cd to make something like that work
