iPod_Support_v0_3b3a.exe
Whats new: * Playlists now shown in their correct order. You can also change the order of playlist items by dragging them up and down in the list! hodgenpodg: try putting 1 song on you iPod with musicmatch, iTunes or EphPod, then trying with Winamp DO NOT PM ME WITH TECH SUPPORT QUESTIONS |

Just tried out 0.3b4 on my 1st gen 5GB iPod & here are quick results.
Winamp crashes when I use the format iPod button & the iPod dB becomes corrupted, disk is not formatted. Needs to be restored to return to full functionality. Eject button doesn't work. Tracks copy about twice as fast with 0.3b4 as with the original version of this plugin. 47 sec for 38 tracks, 187.57MB using Ephpod 2 min 8 sec using Winamp Sync & reverse sync work fine. These are bugs that are probably specific to the older gen of iPod & aren't really a big deal to me as I don't reformat often & Safely Remove Hardware works fine for me. Great work on this plug though, I've been using it since the first release & it keeps getting better... Cheers, Rob p.s. if you want to see the error logs, just let me know. the awesomeness continues! can't wait to see the next update.
"send to -> copy to ipod" works really well with playlist transfers. moving a playlist into the ipod window from an open explorer window crashes winamp after transferring the playlist file (but not the songs). here's yer error: |

has anyone tried moving all of their files (like more than 1500) to the ipod all at once. I did it after i formatted but like not all of my songs transfered even though they were all on the ipod not all showed up on the ipod or winamp. I'm thinking its because all my music is on an older external hard drive and maybe it just to much stress on it and got a little messed up. Plug-in is working great now that all my songs are on thanks you guys i feel like i owe you money because i like it so much.

i havent done it on the latest version, i might try it tomorrow, i dont have time to do it now...
but it worked perfectly with previous verisons..(i also havent tried formatting) also, what does formatting do? will i have to reinstall the ipod software? or does it just delete all your music... or does it do something else? (at the bottom it says 'format help') There is no reset button on life... but the graphics kick ass |

the format help is for the reverse sync config.
The format ipod button deletes x:\iPod_Control\ if it exists (getting rid of all the music and the iTunesDB, then it recreates the directory structure that the ipod uses (all subdirectorys of x:\iPod_Control\) and writes a blank iTunesDB. DO NOT PM ME WITH TECH SUPPORT QUESTIONS |

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned? But it doesn't delete files when syncing..
I'm sure this is planned, but just to be on the safe side.. Also, it would be nice if winamp could add files without ephpod, iTunes or whatever has added one file.. I just formatted my iPod and synced with winamp and had to add a song with ephpod or else there would be an "Error opening iPod Database" or something like that.. The Artist/Album view looks sweet! |

I know sync doesn't delete files. Not a bug, more lack of implementation.
I added a format ipod button (b4) so you don't need ephpod. DO NOT PM ME WITH TECH SUPPORT QUESTIONS |

Got a problem with the sorting of playlists..
Since the iPod only shows the track title I always sort my playlists after title on the iPod but in winamp I sort after artist(or don't sort..) and I've tried and constantly failed to save the sortation(is that an english word?) of the playlist.. When I sort after title, the next time I openb the playlist it is sorted after artist.. I think it would be better if the playlists have seperate sorting, now if I sort the playlist after title, the Artist/album view will also be sorted after title, when I usually sort after artist->track nr. Porhaps you could right-click a playlist and choose "Save sorting"(Porhaps that the correct word..?). Porhaps the Artist/album view should be optional..? |

DRAG AND DROPPING MP3s FROM EXPLORER WINDOW TO IPOD WINDOW WORKS WITHOUT CRASHING. woot.
dragging playlist still doesn't drag the songs with it, but at least now it doesn't crash. i'm sorry to harp on this--it's not like i'm some kind of drag and drop maniac. just giving you feedback. |

also, i think it would be nice if it would tell you which files it did and didnt transfer... i guess it wouldnt be nice if you have a bunch of files, but i have 3340 on my ipod and 3347 on my library and i want to know which 7 werent transfered(im assuming because they are duplicates) edit: and i cant seem to get 'format ipod' to work, it doesnt show the songs, but they are still in my ipod, and the same space is taken up... Version 1.0!
iPod_Support_v1_0.exe Will be on winamp.com/plugins shortly. * Saves artist-album devidor positions. If you don't like the artist-album view, just drag the horisontal devider to the top, and this version will save it like it is. End of story. DO NOT PM ME WITH TECH SUPPORT QUESTIONS |

But I'm using ephpod for playlists until you can sort the playlists by title with the plugin.. Right-click and "save sorting" sounds like a good idea I think..

even though this is 1.0... you're still going to work on it, right?
is there any documentation with the plug-in you published? i am hoping that at least one of the above questions is answered with a "yes." |

I think it would be kind of nice (if this is possible actually) to have the plugin loaded, but if the ipod is not found, then do not have IPOD listed under the Devices section. Just my opinion.

Hiyah, maxdido mentioned that it disabled my WombatShare plugin, he's right it does
I thought the problem was going to be on my side, but it seems to screw up Internet Radio + Internet TV as well! [Right clicking on either tree item brings up the iPod drop down menu]. Any ideas what's happening, are you catching ML Messages that you shouldn't be ?

Great plugin, been using it since you started working on it Will.
![]() The last three versions crash on me at startup. As soon as it finds the iPod, Winamp crashes, and will continue to do so until I either remove my iPod or delete the plugin. I'm using version 'iPod_Support_v0_3b4' fine - no problems with that what so ever. Any ideas on it? If you need me to post the error log or anything, let me know. ![]() Thanks again, -folio |
