Winamp "kills" playback

Hi,

OK, I've been looking around in this forum for about 30 mins now, but did not find a solution to the problem I have:
I listen to mp3s and/or a CD and after a time (sometimes less, sometimes more) the playback stops in the middle of a song and I won't be able to start an mp3 anymore. The funny thing: Winamp kills also some other playback. I don't know how to describe it, but some sounds are still working and some are not. When I play a game for example it plays the sound FX, but doesn't play the music or speech.
The only way to solve this problem temporarily is rebooting.
Now please tell me: "What tha...?"

Some specs here:
Winamp 5.04
Audigy 2 (and i do have the latest drivers )
256 MB DDR
XP1600+
Windows 2000 professional

Greeeee,

Please keep it to one thread.

If you're bored go here or, if the boredom is more serious, here.
